CO-OP PAC is the Political Action Committee of Virginia’s Electric Cooperatives. It was originally organized in 2008 (then as ACRE) to enable all electric co-op leaders and employees to contribute campaign funds to candidates seeking public office. CO-OP PAC is:
EMPLOYEE FUNDED
COMMUNITY OWNED
NON-PARTISAN
CO-OP PAC is governed by a board of directors chosen by the cooperatives it represents. The board works collaboratively with staff to determine how to allocate CO-OP PAC contributions to elected officials and candidates for office.
CO-OP PAC supports candidates who support our co-ops.
STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS
CO-OP MEMBERSHIP & REPRESENTATION
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
LEADERSHIP & SENOIRITY
We support for candidates that have historically supported issues critical to our industry. Contributions are also given based on a candidate’s leadership position within their chamber and party, as well as seniority, committee leadership status, and membership on key committees in the General Assembly. Support is also given based on a candidate’s district. CO-OP PAC prioritizes legislators that serve co-op service territory.
